Challenge
A relatively new customer in Florham Park, NJ called Pipe Works Services had a traditional gas water heater and wanted to convert it to an electric water heater to increase efficiency with no heat loss. The customer didn't want to deal with venting issues that could potentially happen. Pipe Works Services technician Pedro went to the customer's house and diagnosed that the conversion could take place.
Solution
Pipe Works Services technician Pedro installed a new 40-gallon electric water heater. Pedro moved the water heater over about 10 feet to the left so the safety drain pan can flow into the sump pump pit, and it also made it easier to work on. Where it was previously behind duct work and not in a good area. Pedro ran new piping for hot and cold lines and installed a new ball valve and a new safety pan with an alarm. Pedro also installed a new angle valve for the customer's humidifier. Pipe Works Services electrician Ryan installed a new disconnect safety switch for the customer's new 40-gallon electric water heater.
